View Full Version : Adventures in trash-picked furniture!

A couple of weeks ago, a neighbor was throwing away a bunch of stuff, so we walked down the evening before trash pick-up day to see if there was anything exciting in the pile. We found this chair:

Our original intention was to paint or refinish it, then recover the seat, but when we went to take the seat apart it became clear that it wouldn't be salvageable (mildew or something, it was stinky) so we ended up painting the chair and making a whole new seat. We already had the purple paint and the wood for the seat, so we have a new computer chair for D for the cost of some foam padding and a small piece of upholstery fabric:

That's gorgeous! The color really brings out the interesting shape of the back. And I just loooooove the fabric you used for the cushion.

It looks great! I love remaking garbage anything - that really turned out amazing! I love the swirly stamper.
