I'm looking for something that will bust the SMELL out of Lily's clothes from her accidents. Sometimes I wash it repeatedly and it still has a lingering odor. I tried buying a scented laundry soap, but that just makes it smell perfumey on top of the other smell.

You might try Bac Out by BiOKleen. Second product on this link:

I use it for animal accidents, animal barf, etc. It does have a slight scent, but my overly sensitive self isn't bothered by it and it definitely removes the other odors.

Have you tried soaking in vinegar? It worked well for my mother when she had to launder my grandmother's clothes while she lived in a nursing home.

I have a friend whose son wet and soiled probably until he was about 10 who swore by Nature's Miracle.

I had the same trouble with JJ's clothes too until I bought a huge bag of baking soda from Costco for $5. I put the wash on hit and put a scoop of laundry soap and use the same scoop for the baking soda {if it's really bad I might put an extra scoop} and let it soak for a couple of hours and then finish the cycle. It has worked really great for me. Vinegar does seem to work pretty well for pee smells but the baking soda gets out the poo smell.

(nods) That's what we do for Ryan's pants. It really helps a lot.

I use it to clean everything!!! It works especially well for laundry and really leaves things fresh smelling - no chemical smell or perfume.

If you really want to get smells out - I would suggest soaking and washing in the Borax and then hanging the items to dry outside in the sun (if it's above freezing!!).

ETA: Years ago - while moving x-country, a container of milk spilled in the back of our car. For over two years the car smelled like various cheeses (we had moved to California) - it was disgusting. :( FINALLY, I dumped a solution of borax on the carpet and it took the smell out.

Thanks, all. I need to try vinegar, I used to use it on diapers and keep forgetting to try it again!
All of the other solutions, THANK YOU, I will try the baking soda and and borax first since they're the cheapest, and work my way up. I just didn't want to rely on whatever random thing came up in the google search.
