Who would you vote for?

I'm going to do two polls, one with McCain (because I'm assuming he'll be the R nominee)/Clinton and one with McCain/Obama. This is McCain/Obama. Look for the other poll in this area: http://www.yaaps.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90

I'd like to see if YAAPS were the electorate who would win the election and who has a better chance against McCain (so vote in both if you vote in one!)

(THIS IS THE GOOD ONE, NOT PUBLIC)

Oh, I see, you are doing two polls. I was LOL about Hillary not even being a choice. :) Nice to see a pic of you, BTW! YOu are a good-looking guy, Trey.

Oops, I just saw Lisa said the same thing LOL! I guess it's unanimous, you're a cutie! (And FTR, since you brought up weight above, my dh has been 180 and 240 and everything in between, and it doesn't affect how handsome he is. I'm sure you neither.)

Thanks for that morning pick up!

Of course the weight thing is more my self-image problem than anything :D. DH says the same thing as you (though of course he'd like me to lose a good 30lbs for health reasons.. as would I)

I THINK Obama... but I am not 100 committed yet. I realize this doesn't matter to many here but John McCain was a POW for 5 ½ YEARS in a Vietnamese war camp where he was beaten and tortured… my god, 5 and a half YEARS, I just think the inner strength he must possess... I can not imagine. I also so greatly respect his willingness to stand by his principles, even when that has meant being very unpopular with his own party (eg. slamming the Bush admins handling of the war, voting against the Bush tax breaks, stance against NCLB/federalization of public schools) I know there are some BIG issues where I disagree completely w/ him, ironically the biggest is also one I part ways w/ Obama on- immigration. I think John McCain is probably the most interesting figure in modern politics to be honest; his life story is just amazing.

All that doting school girl stuff aside, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Obama, I love the hope and optimism he brings to the picture, I love the CHANGE he represents. I find him to be such a moving and motivational speaker and as such I am sure he will "show" well in international circles. I also find the idea of breaking this huge color barrier, once and for all- exhilarating! I agree with his stands on many issues, but we also part ways on some....

It's a quandary, DD and I had a huge talk about this tonight though and what I told her is this- these are two VERY different men, with VERY different backgrounds and skills and plans- but I believe to the bottom of my heart they are also both very GOOD men who truly are patriots and public servants. I am hundreds times more happy with the idea of EITHER being president, than the person who sits in that office today.

This is really well said. I agree completely.
