It looks like someone stuck duel sided sticky tape to the backs of those granny squares and threw them at her.

I've at the last minute decided to make up some scarves for extended family members and I need a nice businessman style scarf that would look good in brown/black/grey. Classic knitty looking... but crochet.

Making up my own pattern will take longer.. but I'll do it if I have to, LOL!

I think I really like the 1 hour scarf in the last link. You also use the colours at once so I think it would look nice with what you want.

I was going to suggest the last link. There are some really good patterns there (and some that are just as ugly as the one you linked. LOL)

LOL! That is where I found that one. There are some good ones there, I was asking here hoping someone had a tried & true one they liked.

My kids are having fun looking through the amurigami patterns. They're a lot more fun and consistently cute than scarves.

Thanks all! I made this one for my SIL in a green suede yarn that is not as bright as the one in the pic and more of an olive color.

And I've made a brown one, with this pattern, for my dad.

I can't decide if I want to find a different manly pattern for my bro or not, or just go with the same pattern I used for my dad's. Brother's will be black.

I really like the 1 hour scarf... but it uses too much yarn and I'm trying to keep costs down... but then.. maybe I will use that one for my uncle's scarf.

Amanda wants one of those one-skein scarves. It's cute. nft

My friend is a well known crochet design maker and book writer and she has the most beautiful shaw ever (for your female relatives, not sure if she has anything for the guys)... NOT being a crocheter I just admire the art from afar, lol!

I'm breaking the link because I like to keep my local world and my online world seperate ;-)

That is a beautiful shawl! Wish I had time to make one before Christmas. I'll have to remember it for next year.

Annie, I think the image of the scarf is going haunt me for the rest of my life. Hippy granny squares randomly velcro'd onto a person. :yuck:

I am glad you found something else. The patterns you picked are very classic.
