Oh wow - I didn't know that you could make your food diary public in FitDay. I use Sparkpeople, but I'm thinking that maybe the extra incentive (i.e. public humiliation) of having other people read my food diary would be what I would need to keep myself on track (I need draconian measures)
Maybe I should do switch!

Oh, and you know, when I read your response, I totally heard it in Shaggy's voice from the first live action Scooby Doo movie, where he switches bodies with Daphne....

I actually think you need to take in more calories. 1342 seems a bit on hte low side, especially of you are expending 513 during exercise.
Then you bump up to 1,600 while you are losing. Then once you plateau (or get tired of doing it) you go off it. Eat what you want until making sure you dont' gain anymore weight than you can lose in a a certain amount of time (I forgot fo sure but I think it's a week, 1-3 pounds) then you go back down to 1,600 and keep doing that until you reach your goal weight. Then you eat what you want until you gain a little, then cut back. basically the goal is to sneak the calories out of your diet with out your body (and metabolism) figuring out you did it.
So, IME, the two weeks is a safe window to jump start but not reduce your metabolism. Then you bump up the calories and your body doesn't store it. The first part worked really well for me. I lost 30 pounds last time and kept it off for 2 years, and I didn't feel hungry. I also remembered what *normal* portion sizes look like! But over time, I stopped paying attention. Started finishing what was on my plate when I got out. Didn't notice the potion sizes growing. And I gained most of it back.
It's a interesting book to read. Of all the diets I;ve heard about, I think this one fits me best.

Please be gentle with me. LOL! You can see that the activity thing is not as desired - once the snow and ice are gone I will be walking with a co-worker every morning.

I've decided to start one, but I don't know how to add food. Do I have to figure the calories myself for things that are not listed?
And do I really have to put how long I sat on the toilet?
I answered my opinion on tracking activity in the otehr thread. But as far as food goes, if it is not there you have to make a custom food.
The good news is it is *usually* pretty easy to find nutritional information on the internet. Even for out to eat stuff. :-)
