I'm a divorced mom of two, have been contracting at a largish company in the area, good possibility of the job going full time. I've been there since August.

I am an administrative asst for the whole dept of ~100 people but specifically work for the dept head. There is a man within the dept (also a contractor) who, when I joined, intro'd himself; I thought he was kinda cute. But since it's a work situation I am very cautious. We've flirted innocently but that's about it.

He doesn't wear a ring, so it appears he's single/divorced/widowed, but I guess one never knows, right?

It's a very professional place. Any ideas to get to know him (coz hey if he left or vice versa I'd love to get to know him better :sexyvamp: )

A friend of mine suggested I put out a candy dish. LOL not a good idea for *me* as I'd eat all of it!! LOL. Plus, he kinda comes off more of a crunchy/granola and/or renaissance kinda guy.

any ideas?

Why not just ask him if he wants to go out for coffee?

I know NOTHING about working for a large company, but might there be a way to find out if his birthday is any time soon (from personnel or something?) and then you could bake him some nice cookies or something and give them to him? Of course, this wouldn't work if his birthday was last month, or if no one will tell you his birthday, LOL.

I'd ask him out for lunch. You can say something like "it's hard to get a lunch buddy when you're a contractor (which can be true)." Even if it's just to get a sandwich and bring it back to the office.

If he turns you down - just chalk it up and move on. :) :)
