Quick reply not working?

I've been trying to "quick reply" to people, but it doesn't let me type anything in the box. I have to hit "reply" and do a regular reply on a new screen.

Okay, forget it. I didn't see that there is an icon on the bottom left corner of the last post in order to do a quick reply. At another site, you just have to start typing in the box, you don't need to click on anything.

If you use the forums in linear view, it requires you to reply to a specific post, in order to preserve the threading for those using threaded view.

The "Click the button First" Quick Reply setting can be turned off. Do we want it on or off?

If you're asking, I'd love it to be on to help preserve threading. That's just my vote, of course.

I'm used to being able to just type in the quick reply box also, Kerry. I see that if I hit the "post reply" button, my response is threaded under the last post in linear mode. I also notice that each and every post in the thread has a quick reply icon to reply to that particular post. Interesting. I guess this is a result of assigning a forum display mode of threaded (not user selected).
