I think I still have my Over the Shoulder Baby Holder. If I still have it, you can have it as long as you promise to pass it on to another YAAPSter when you're done with it. I'll look later and let you know for sure.

I've seen new ones made of knit jersey, like a sturdy t-shirt. I thought that would be wonderful for hot weather!

There are also mesh slings, which you can take right into the pool (or the shower, if you have a baby that needs to be with you that much/you find it the best way to wash the baby.)

Living in texas, I can't imagine wearing a jersey sling out in the heat.

I did pick up a solarveil pouch for this baby, and some cotton gauze for making a wrap. Linen is another great fabric in the heat.

A_Marie, another idea is to check out the local shops. You should be able to pick up something like the mexican rebozos which would be wonderful down there.

I really like(d) my Taylor made sling... Mine is cranberry batik, which is nice and lightweight while still feeling strong and secure. She also makes "summer slings" made of solarveil or organic cotton mesh.

I don't like padding (like the OTSBH) in the heat... or actually ever, because I have a harder time adjusting a padded sling. My second favorite sling is a maya wrap. It's awesome, but a little heavier than the batik one.

The problem I had with mesh slings is that they made my babies look all polka dotted from their skin pushing against the little holes. LOL. Maia and Lucia also kind of both freaked out in the water, so they weren't a really fun and joyful thing to use with them. LOL. The one I have is a shower sling made of something like the material for football jerseys, I think?

I have a purple mesh sling - If my memory serves me correctly, Kathy made it long ago for a member here and then somehow I aquired it... I'm talking AMU days and the baby I used it for is now 9 1/2yrs old.

I'm going out of town for a couple of weeks, when I get back I'll post a pic & measurements, if you are interested and send it off to you - no charge.. except, I may need shipping if BIL can't ship for free to PR.

If I don't get back to this in a week, please bump this up to remind me. I wanted to ship this week, but this sudden trip to LA has delayed a few things. Sorry!
