Getting to the newest post (for you).

At other VB forums I'm on, I read only in linear mode but I've had my option set to hybrid here since I do miss threaded. However, when I open a post I'd previously posted on or read, I am brought to the first post in the thread. On my other VB forums, when I open the post I am brought to the point I left off in the thread. Is it because I'm hybrid here that that is happening or is that an option on the forum setup?

I've never been able to get it to go to the newest posts in a thread on threaded or hybrid in vBulletin. Would love to know how!

You can click the blue arrow box that is located to the immediate left of the subject title when you are in the forum. That will take you to the new since last in stuff.

I appreciate these very specific directions, but I still don't see any little blue arrows anywhere. Maybe I don't understand what "in the forum" means?

Maybe I don't understand what "in the forum" means?For anyone else who might be having trouble spotting it, it's the same size and shape as the little square blue button in the quote, above, but it points down, and it shows up to the left of a title in the New Posts or Forum view.

Also, that blue button on the quote will jump you back up to the post that is quoted. :)

Yes, I understand that, but other forums I've been on (playa.info comes to mind) will automatically take me to the newest post without me having to click anything. Maybe it is older software or somehting and this is better - it is only one click but I have to remember the arrow.

The check mark is to the right - that means you're subscribed to a thread. The arrow is to the left.

I think it's a setting in your CP - you can set it yourself to read newest first or oldest first. If I'm understanding you correctly.

Sometimes when I click on this little blue arrow, it takes me to just one new post in the thread, leaving others out. Sometimes it takes me to the frist of a sequential series of new posts.

It looks like if there have been 5 new posts in different places in the thread since I was last on, the little blue arrow takes me just to the most recent one. Does that sound right?

I don't know if it sounds right, but that's my experience too (in hybrid mode).

I don't know if it sounds right, but that's my experience too (in hybrid mode).Hybrid mode freaks me out, the way it does that. I think I've probably missed some posts because of that, it just doesn't act like I expect it to!
