She wants me to switch my upper body workout to a strength training workout with freeweights, so I have an appointment with her next week. She also added more weight to my core program (upped everything by 10lbs)

so today was 35mins on treadmill, 2.8mph for a 3 minute warmup, then 27 minutes at 3.4 mph (at varying inclines) then a 5 minute cooldown at 2.8mph

For my core I did:
3 sets of 15 at 60lbs for back extensions
3 sets of 15 at 35lbs of side to side
3 sets of 15 at 50lbs for ab presses
25 situps using the 3kg ball

Then I did leg presses, 3 sets of 20 (135lbs)
Then I did my quads 1 set of 8 at 10lbs for my right leg (I'm still recovering from a torn quad) and 3 sets of 10 at 20lbs for my left leg
Then I did my backlegs 3 sets of 20 at 35lbs
Then I did 45 hock squats
Then I did 3 sets of 20 innerthigh at 75lbs
Then I did 3 sets of 20 outerthigh at 75lbs

Then Petra got ahold of me because she wanted to see how strong I was and roped me into another training session. But I really like her and it's nice that she can relate. At one time, she was over 300lbs!

Good for you PA. It is so rewarding to see progression! :yay: I really do think that free weights is the way to go for the most part. I am betting you will agree in a few weeks.

Weight-training is fun. (sometimes you might have to say that in an "I don't actually agree with this" voice, LOL.)

Well, I think PA is trying to kill me. She keeps making these posts and somehow she is getting inside my brain, and saying, "kath, get off your rear and get thee to the YMCA and find a personal trainer"

calling the Y now.
