We just got back from vacation (http://www.yaaps.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4520). I've been following the Weight Watcher's Core program since January. I started at 210 and was down to 175 before vacation. I had managed to maintain through a week of working at the full-day camp VBS at our church, the week before we left, which I was very happy with, because there were all kinds of snacks available, and I went ahead and ate the meals they provided us, instead of packing a lunch. So my only goal for vacation was to maintain at that level. I figured I'd get back to actually losing once we were home.

My parents visited my house back at Easter, and I told them all about Core. They both liked the idea, so they started it once they got home. They've both lost more than 25 lbs apiece since. So Mom cooked lots of good core meals. We did go out to lots of restaurants, including Shealy's, a BBQ buffet where we always go and stuff ourselves with lots of good country cooking. On the road we did a lot of Subway and Cracker Barrel (CB's grilled catfish is delicious). DH and I went out on a date night, and went to a nice sushi restaurant in Columbia. I tried to eat moderately, but I didn't miss out on anything I really wanted. I took my scale along, and the chart where I graph my weight, and weighed every morning like I do at home. I even dragged it into hotels with us.

So over the two and a half weeks we were away, I dropped 5 lbs! :yay: Yesterday morning I was at 169.5, which is a new low for me, and maintained it this morning. So I'm quite pleased about that. The rest of the summer should be easier, so we'll see how it goes. We do have the week of the musical we're in coming up, when we have rehearsal every night all week. I usually try to cook and take along at least 2 meals that week, but we usually resort to fast food for the rest.

Congrats, Angela!
How great that you were able to set your goals and then meet them. (maintaining and losing) Oh wait...you *surpassed* your goals since you lost while still away! woohoo! LOL!

Good luck while doing the musical.

Angela, losing weight on vacation is unheard-of. That was a master stroke, getting your parents on Core before going to visit them, LOL!
