...and about homeschooling him (in the past and I assume, this time around too) is how open he is to reading books. Pretty much anything I suggest he will give it a go. He doesn't care if the main character is a boy or a girl, or if it's an adventure book or a quieter book. So I get to indulge my inner librarian and recommend all kinds of quality books. I read them too and it's really fun to get to have the kind of discussions that I love about books.
Since school let out he's read:
Wringer
Ike and Mama and the Seven Surprises
Egypt Game
And he's currently reading...
The Midwife's Apprentice
I just ordered The Invention of Hugo Cabret for him because it seems so neat and he will love searching through all the illustrations.
K isn't doing much reading these days (it makes me sad!) so it's so nice to have a really enthusiastic reader around.
By the way he absolutely loved The Egypt Game. I think that's his favorite so far. What books have your kids (any age) loved lately?
