Amye turns 18 today. She took advantage of being 18 today and got the tattoo she's been wanting. It's a star with each of the sides made by quarter-notes and the notes have "stitches" across them to look as if they've been sewn on. Her dad woke her this morning with our tradition of him singing/screaming along to the song "Birthday" and tonight he brought her home a mylar balloon (another of his traditions for her.)
It's hard to believe the dimple faced, curly headed little girl who could always make us laugh with her antics is now an adult. She's turning into quite an amazing young lady. I can't wait to see what the world has in store for her or maybe I should say I can't wait to see what she has in store for the world.
Happy Birthday, Amster!!

Congrats to you and her! More Mamas of Adults, whee :loveit:! (I love when I see bday announcements on YAAPS that are close to my kids ages, to think back how old my kids were . . . Amelia was 2.5 months old when Amye was born. I was taking a summer calculus I course, and making gallons of breastmilk. We went fishing a LOT - we were in Ketchikan, Alaska.)

I was newly 19 and 3-ish months pregnant with my DD and this very hour I was being picked up by my cousin's DH on their way to L&D. I was a labor doula/coach for them (didn't know the term), her ds was born on the 3rd.
We were here in the same city living with my grandma, I worked for an insurance company as a "girl friday" and DH was a security guard.

I have a midnight baby too - Amelia was born on (April) 24th, around 5 am. 2 years later when I was delivering Tori, I was in labor all day on March 24th, and thought it would be cool that they share a birthday date like that . . . especially because my brother and I do, too (he's Aug 17th, and I'm Nov 17th.) Alas, hard as I tried - 10 cm at 6pm - she wasn't born until 18 minutes after midnight, darn it :-P.
However, it does make for this lineup: Amelia, the 24th; Tori, the 25th; Jon, the 26th (of Sept.)
