It's a 6 week training program. I can't decide if I want to go for regular pushups or modified pushups, but a buddy (or two or more) would be lovely!

I'm probably going to regret this, but I think I'm up for this. I'm sure my initial test is going to be really, really lame. I'll read through the rest of the site later.

Progress, not perfection. The perfectionist side of me would say it doesn't count unless they're perfect and regular push ups. But I'm trying to quash that voice a bit.

I'm in and I'm doing the modified ones for now. I'm going to start tomorrow and then go to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday routine.

I'm level one- such a weakling!

There's nothing wrong with level one! (That's where I am, too, and I knew that's where I'd be.)

I have just been reading about this. I'm in. I start my boot camp program next week, so I better start that this week. I'll probably start Wed. I did the test today - I did 11, but this time last year I could pretty easily do 20, so that sucks.

Oh good lord. Is the goal to be able to do one hundred pushups in a row? 'Cause, that's just NOT going to happen for me.
I hate pushups. :-P

The program works you up to that over six weeks. But even at the end it's not 100 all at once--the chart at the website has you do a set, take a short rest, do another set, etc. It builds the numbers up over time.

I have no idea if I'll be able to do it. I hate pushups, too, but something about the way this is all graphed out made it look doable.

I figure any improvement will be something and just doing any number regularly has got to be good, right?

Have fun though!

The website actually talks about sore wrists and what to do--they suggest knuckle pushups on some kind of soft pad. It sounds odd, but might be worth a try if you really want to join in. :-)

OK, I just did the first day's workout (and now typing is hard with shaky arms lol). Not too bad - it took less than 10 minutes to do. I decided to do them on my feet instead of my knees.

Note to self take off rings first. :-)!!

OK I will do it too. I just did 22 "girl" pushups for my initial test. Once my arms recover, I will do my first day's workout.

I did the first day last night. It went well!

I did my 4 sets of 2, then for my last set I did 7! I couldn't even do 4 for my initial test. I'm psyched :)

Onward!

That is so interesting! When I was doing the fitness test and my wrists were giving out, I instinctively went to my knuckles.. of course, then my elbows and knees started giving out. LOL

I am breaking out check in posts -- keep us accountable, ;-) I hope that's OK. And when you guys do day two (I think you all are at least a day a head of me) you can start. That way people coming in late can check in when they start.

Okay, I'm in. We have to do these for karate. I've been working on it for 2 years and can do 20 with good form, but I'd really love to be able to do 100!!!

This is funny... just a few years ago I had to do push-ups ~~in front of my co-workers~~ every month for our PT. I was doing about 25 in a row, I think?

Just now I did the initial test for this and I am SAFELY in Rank 1.

I'm in!
