I would like some better running socks . . . what are other people using?
Also, I am inventing a new absorbent hairband for myself, that also deals with the Too Short stuff on the sides, and accomodates a pony in the back - I'll have post pics when I've got it made the way I imagine it in my head !

DH has been wearing the toe-socks made popular it seems by Daisuke Matsuzaka. DH LOVES LOVES LOVES them for long runs (10+ miles up to marathon distance) but they don't wear as long as his beloved smartwool does. He normally wears smartwool for everyday wear and biking, and shorter runs.
They are short-ankled and are grey on the bottom but white elsewhere. There's an elastic-like consistency to them around the foot so they fit tight but also give. I think I got 6 to a pack.

I run in the Wright Sock double-layer anti-blister system socks (http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/DLU259/). They are hands-down the best socks I've found. When I trained for the Ironman, I tried about 5 or 6 different kinds of socks in training to decide what to use in the race, and these were the best. And what can I say, I did 112 miles on the bike and 26 miles on the run with NO blisters. Can't beat that!

I go with the lower-cut version tho. I've not put them to quite as extensive tests, lol, but I've never had a problem.
And that's where I buy my socks (and shoes, and running clothes)!

Those are good socks - I actually have some. However, for some reason, they are just a little too big for my feet. They bunch up behind the ankles funny :meh:. I wanted to like them, I really did!

I wonder if those would be good for walking as well? I'm looking for socks to go with my comfy walking shoes, to be used on the job (I'm completing a CNA certification in September). Are these thicker thinner socks?
