Mine is arriving tomorrow and I'm interested in hearing from people who've had theirs a while. Anything you wish you'd known at that start? Anything that's driving you mad? Is the scale accurate?
Did you get it? Do you like it? I think the scale for me is annoying, it could be accurate, but I never do wii fit at the same time of day. And it will ask you what the reason for you weight gain is even though it will tell you you could vary 2 pounds by weighing at night. So I will use the regular scale and weigh at the same time every day (in the morning when I am my lightest LOL!)
The only two other things I don't like is you have to unlock things. I want to do the Lotus focus, but I haven' unlocked it yet. The kids have though, LOL!! And I wish I could set up a series of excersises, instead of having to go all the way out of the menu.
I love the yoga, but I've never done it before, so I could just have low expectations. I will start using the Wii Fit to combine yoga and strength. But I will still have to go to the gym for my aerobic stuff. It's fun to run around the island (I am a calorie incinerator BTW, LOL!!) but it since you are jogging in place it's not really like running. I like the rhythm boxing too. DH was dying laughing at me when I tried advanced. But it was FUN!

Forgot the most important thing! DH said Jillian Michaels (from the Biggest Loser) is coming out with a routine for the balance board. I love her, she cracks me up with her, "I am not going to give you an easy way attitude." :-)

I've been avoiding this question. I haven't used the Wii fit as much as I thought i would. Every time I try, the kids want to "play" too. In summer, this is difficult because they're almost always around, so they demand their own turns. It's fun, but it is difficult to get a good workout in my living room while taking turns with 2-4 other people who just ant to "play games." And so, I stopped trying at some point. It got annoying and frustrating to argue about why *I* deserved the right to hog the TV and the Wii (maybe if there was another tv with cable it wouldn't be as much of a problem?) when they always had to share and take turns when they wanted to use it*sigh*
I think the scale is accurate. And the good news is that it *is* fun -- fun enough for every member of my family to want to join in.

I let the girl s play A WHOLE BUNCH. Then it's my turn. So if they played for 30 minutes already, I can say OK it's my turn until I go through all the yoga moves (or whatever I want to do) I also have them use the wiimote to gt me through the menus. They like that.

I think that would work (and has worked to some extent) with my older two. Lucia isn't as reasonable or patient. About anything. LOL.

LOL! I forgot I'm spoiled having "big" kids now. ~nt

Okay, my thoughts after having it for 24 hours LOL
1) the Yoga is pretty good. I've been taking yoga weekly since January so I'm pretty sure of my posture and I can do the poses correctly on the balance board, so go me. I think if you have no yoga experience the trainer is pretty okay -- the board's 'zone' makes sure you're at least not wildly out of whack. I would LOVE to see them at least demonstrate proper Mountain Pose for people who don't know it and stress that EVERY pose is based off that -- so your shoulders must be back and down, your hips aligned with your knees and your ankles, no matter what you're doing. Also, the instructor stands with his or her feet far too close together.
2) I'm LOVING the run. And the hoola hoops.
3) I'm not thrilled that you have to unlock so much -- I want to set up a good half hour workout, man -- not flip from one 2 minute exercise to the next. I'm hoping that once I get things unlocked I'll be able to do that.
4) I'm trying the step stuff and not falling, so go me, again.
5) I am working out and sweating within my 30 minutes.
My kids love it. Over dinner last night, however, the law was laid down -- this is a toy for them and a tool for me. This is so that when fall comes and I can't ride my bike daily, I can stay in shape. This is MINE and I allow them to use it. So, each morning I get it for 45 minutes, they are not to ask to play or to mock. :nono: Then they can do as they please, if it fits in with the plan for the day.
The scale is accurate. :bag: It's also five pounds heavier than my scale. Which means that three weeks ago I was closer to 140 than 'just a little over 130' and I still have ten pounds to lose. :smack:

I think what I'm going to do is just work out each day and only do the body test once a week. That should avoid the harassment.

I am going to google the mountain pose. But now I am wondering how far apart your feet should be. I am guessing for proper alignment it would be about 6inches? maybe? Whereas strength training is should width, right.
they are not to ask to play or to mock. :nono: I did a few poses at should with because I am used to that stance for exercising. Then I *noticed* the trainers feet together, they should explain proper position.
I need that rule for DH!
