My abs suck. (http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness_articles.asp?id=1112)
I couldn't even do it once. I wonder if I got the directions right!
Good and above-average for the other two.
Are you letting you hands slide forward. I get from the directions, that you should let your fingertips slide six inches forward (not hold your hand in on place, which I *almost* got from the directions) I think the six inches ti to know how far you need to go up (or forward)
I did...8 regular push ups in 20 seconds. But my allergies are acting up spo my wrists and hands gave out. I did 19 crunches in a minute (halfway between Marginal and good) and HR was 100 (above average), but I did a two step riase (16 inces maybe, all the steps in my house are aroun 8 inches) I am sweat though! LOL!

Sweat is good!
I happened to find a milk crate that was almost exactly 12 inches high. Hurt my feet until I got wise and put shoes on!
I was figuring that some of these would be extra challenging for us short people, so I'm giving myself an extra :yay: because the proportions weren't adjusted to fit my shorter legs, etc.

I used a 10" stepstool because I'd kill myself on 12" for sure. I don't know how much it skewed the results, but I was pleasantly surprised (relieved!) at the results for all of the tests.

Given your height I don't think it would skew it all that much, if at all. These things are designed for people at least 5'4", I'm sure.

I managed 6 (girl) pushups.. I think. OUCH! We have concrete floors.. and I'm not sure where to put my hands during a push-up, do you put your face on the floor.. or... I just don't know how to do a push-up :bag: Whatever I was doing.. I felt the pain in my wrist, hand and knee joints, nothing in my back or arm muscles. I feel like I could have done more if I had someone telling me what I was doing wrong on my "stance" and if I had a thick matt or knee pads. I tried on a blanket... didn't help.
I'm pretty good at the crunches! I did 30. I guessed at the 6 inch thing, though.
I did POOR on the step test. I used DH's blood pressure moniter and after the 3 minutes of stair stepping my readings were 129sys 87dia 127 pulse. It said I had prehypertension, LOL! Yeah, if I'd been sitting still.
My results are far from scientific - as I didn't follow the rules to the letter. But it helped me see that I am basically where I thought I was - out of shape.
Thanks for inspiring me to MOVE today... I'm going to have to shower after that last one. :loveit:

I am not sure what you could do. I have proper form on my push ups and my writs and knuckles gave our WAY before I felt it in my arms. I find weight work easier to build those muscles, because it's the 90 degree angle that I have to hold my wrists at that hurts. I am not sure there is a position you can do a push up in that would change that.

I am more fit than I thought! I did 30 pushups which put me in the "good" category - I might have been able to do more but the boys were very contemptuous of the fact that I did them on my knees and decided that I needed an extra challenge so they piled pillows on me. And I did 40 crunches, so that put me in the excellent category. But I haven't done the aerobic test - I know that won't go well because my resting heart rate is barely within the best category.
