My kids have a good friend who is currently in foster care. He was removed from his mom's house a couple of weeks ago. Now he's being moved to another foster home. His current foster family say that they have told CPS that he has a very strong friendship with my kids and that they would like to see him still be able to continue this friendship. After all of the upheaval in his life lately, I think our family is one consistent thing he has right now. He is absolutely the nicest kid I've ever met, and I hope hope hope that he ends up in a good foster home this time (his last foster parents who were short-term care were great). I don't want to say any more details, but his home situation is not good and I don't really know what will happen to him in the long run. He has been at our house almost all weekend, and my heart really goes out to him.

our prayers and thoughts will be with him, we are learning more and more how difficult the system is for kids. :( I hope it all works out for him!

Oh, my goodness. I can't even imagine how difficult that must be for him. Good for you for wanting to stay involved..... I hope it works out that you're able to.

Oh, that's heartbreaking . . . I hope you can stay in his life, and that this next placement is not only great, but longer term, too.
How tough! Poor kid. I am glad you guys are in his life. I hope you all have plenty of opportunities to make a positive impact on his life. I also hope he has a wonderful placement.

UPDATE: He's been gone for two weeks now and we hadn't heard anything from him. I ended up getting his caseworker's name and called her a couple of times and didn't hear back, but today she called and said he's settling in and doing fine (actually, she said he's "doing better now" :sob: . But best of all, she is giving the new family our phone number and they will be calling next week to set up a playdate!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:
