I am so completely thrilled that two of my SIL's are pregnant, at the same time. One is due at the end of May and one the middle of July.

So, we found out that SIL 1 (due in May) is having a boy and yay! So exciting.

Well, we found out this morning that SIL 2 (who has a 3 y.o. boy) is having...a boy. Yay! Also so exciting.

Except I'm just a tiny bit disappointed. I was really hoping that one of them would have a girl. Our family is full of males, FULL. I have 4 brothers and no sisters, my mom has 3 brothers and no sisters. I will have 3 nephews and no nieces. I just really wanted someone to have a baby girl so I could buy all those cute tiny baby girl clothes and so C would have a girl cousin.

It's silly, I know. I am so grateful that both babies are healthy...I was just hoping one of them would be a girl.

Our extended family is like that, but full of girls. I feel sorry for the lone male cousin! At least on Jon's side, things have been more balanced . . . except that it took 12 years for A & T to get any cousins at ALL.

Is one of your SIL's the one I knew? Mazel Tov on the upcoming arrivals regardless :)!

They are both on my side of the family. One is the wife of one of the triplets and the other is my other brother who is not a triplet.

Dh's siblings don't seem to be having any kids and I don't know if they will. They are in their mid-to-late 30's but no talk of babies/kids. It's sort of weird. You would think out of 4 of them (although one does have a 13 y.o. but she is a single mom and the oldest sister so probably no more kids) some of them would have some kids. Two of them are very financially stable and one has expressed that she would really like some...so, I'm not sure what the deal is there.

I suspect that my kids won't have any first cousins on my side. (I always forget that they do on their father's side -- we're not really in contact with any of them.) My brothers are younger than that (25 & 31, I think) but the older is involved with a woman who has teens and I've heard nothing about babies since things went bad with his ex-wife. My other brother would just really surprise me if he ever had kids. He's very much in a fog as to where he wants his life to go at this point.
