ePray, send energy out into the universe, I'll take anything!
I second-interviewed today at the software development firm, and I want to work there so badly I'm foaming at the mouth.
I think the interview went well. I watched the CEO thaw out before my eyes - he went from reserved and a little stony (like, little funny things I would say just fell flat) to very warm and engaging in the two hours I was there.
The guy who landed me the interview, whom I would be replacing, also thought the interview went well.
There are two other people up for the job, and they're interviewing tomorrow. They want to make a decision by the end of the week because they want the new person to start on Monday. The guy who is moving to NYC is starting his new job there May 7, and they need to cram his 12 years of company knowledge into someone else's brain between now and then
Both of the other guys interviewing are highly skilled and qualified, I hear. It just comes down to intangibles - who does he think he can trust? With whom does he have rapport? Etc.
I want it to be me!
I would be busy as a one-armed paperhanger, but never bored, always challenged, and the benefits and pay are fantastic. I mean, really fantastic. And they work a four-day week to boot, so I'm 10 hours/day away from the family but then have three days in a row with them, which rocks. I didn't know that part until the interview was over, and it was just icing, you know?
Please just send out your vibes, prayers, good wishes, keep me in your thoughts, whatever. I'll seriously break down and cry for a really, really long time if I don't land this job. I've been on several interviews, and nothing is this perfect.
I may be running a thank you email by y'all tomorrow for critique. It needs to be the perfect thank you letter, strike exactly the right tone, and remind of the rapport we had in the interview. If you have suggestions, lay them on me. I'm not tackling it until the morning, however, as I am officially fried tonight.

Thanks, all. I'm obsessing a little much over this LOL!
I didn't sleep much last night, and I keep alternating between imagining myself working there (even down to what I'm wearing and how I've arranged my office) and reliving every little moment of the interview where I think I did poorly!
I told Mike that even if he got a job tomorrow, I'd still want to work there. And I predict that after he has his education finished in a couple years and will be licensed to teach, I may, if I land this job and it goes like I think, still want to work there. This is my job, if I'm making sense.
I'm going a little crazy, here, so I'm trying to remind myself there will be something just as good if this doesn't happen.
{{{Amy}}} I hope it works out for you! {pins & needles over here!}

OR....another worst case scenario...they don't hire you....right away. I don't know if I posted about the job I was applying for at the co-op, but....I didn't get it. It was PERFECT for me, and I was the PERFECT candidate for that job. I was *bummed*. Fast forward to this past Saturday, I'm there shopping, and the HBC manager comes up to me "TRISH! TRISH! I'm SO GLAD I ran into you! I lost your cell phone number, and....do you still want the job?! The person we hired didn't work out, and we've been holding the position for you, hoping we'd run into you!". Wow.
So....even if they don't hire you.....you never know! (but I feel pretty hopeful for you!)
Oh, Trish, that's so cool! I remembered you posting about applying, and hoping they didn't link you with your ex and his work ethic, but I forgot to ask how that went.
How cool that you'll have that job after all! I'm so happy for you!

This is a little late - I see in the other thread you got offered a different job, but I just wanted to say that I understand the thing about this being *your* job. That's how I felt when I interviewed for my current job. It seemed to fit me soooo perfectly. The interview went great. As I was escorted out of the interview by one of the interview committee, she whispered to me "that was great." I had to submit a proposal within the week and did so. And then I heard NOTHING for six weeks! I felt like it was *my* job but couldn't figure out what was taking so long. Not that you will have to wait that long or anything, but I spent six weeks replaying each minute of the interview, scrutinizing my proposal over and over again.
I had given up and assumed I'd just stick with my part-time job when I finally got the offer. And then my new supervisor called me and spent two hours telling how she knew she wanted to hire me the minute the interview started, but there was another candidate that the big boss liked, but his proposal sucked, but then they had to wait for the chief judge's approval and that took forever, etc. and so on. We laugh about that now.
And honestly, if I won the lottery or something, I think I would keep my job. My DH would stay home with the kids in a heartbeat, but I feel I've really found my place.
I hope the very same for you.
Maggie
