It's such a beautiful thing (when the other person is your infant son, that is :)).

It's really quite wonderful. Last night, he jokingly said "I should have gotten one of these things a long time ago!" When Leo cries (we think he might have colic - I've been up every night with him for the past 4 nights with uncontrollable crying that NOTHING fixes), he picks him up and dances around the house with him. When he's breastfeeding, Mac just loves to watch us and look at the different funny faces Leo makes with his eyes.

An old friend of Mac's is getting married this summer. She was an ex-girlfriend whom he thought he would marry at the time. They've remained friends and he talks to her a few times a year. We knew she was getting married this summer, and were looking forward to a vacation out to Denver.

The invite was received in the mail earlier this week, and I noticed that the envelope was made out to only "MacGregor and Kerry". I also noted that the invite came on behalf of her parents, rather than herself. Also, his X is an attorney, the wedding was at a country club in Vail, and it was an evening reception. All this led me to believe that this was going to be a pretty fancy affair and that strict ettiquette was being observed. So I told Mac that technically, the invite was just for us, and not Leo also. He pshawed me and said of course it would be fine to bring Leo. I told him that he needed to call and ask her, just in case. Well, he asked her and found out yesterday that no, kids were indeed not welcome. I was amused and touched at how outraged this made MacGregor. "How could she NOT want him there? He's so sweet and cute!" I said no big deal - he could go to the wedding and Leo and I would hang at the hotel with a good book, and I REALLY didn't mind. I know he's been looking forward to going to this wedding ever since he found out she was engaged. So he came home from work yesterday and said that he had been thinking about it, and he decided that he didn't want to go to any event where his son was not also welcome. :hearts: I told him to not make any decisions about it now and that his X would be very hurt to learn that we actually flew out to Colorado and were there the weekend of the wedding but he didn't go to it. But he insists that he wouldn't have any fun if Leo and I couldn't also attend.

I'm so amazed at what a changed person he is. Overnight he's turned into a complete family man, and I'm falling in love with him all over again.
