Not organic, but fed on pasture. From a small "farmer" (me).
We usually just have enough eggs for ourselves and to give some away to family and friends, but production has been good lately and someone has approached me about buying eggs. I haven't bought eggs in about five years, and I have no idea what the going rate is.
I'm thinking something in the $3-$4 range?

Eggs that are both certified organic and free range (and I think some that are not certified) sell for $4.50 at our farmer's market here in Santa Fe. I think your range sounds really fair.

The ones I see in the grocery store with the "free range" label (and God only knows how accurate that description is, coming from a major corporation) are generally $4.
If I were buying them from a local farmer, I would expect to pay _at least_ that. Maybe more, if I knew that the farmer would allow my son to chase the aforementioned chickens once in a while. ;)

We are used to paying $3, but I think they should be more, we were getting a deal in PA. We pay 2.65 now for free range but not certified organic.

We sell ours for $3 a dozen, to neighbors. That's insanely cheap compared to eggs of the same quality from the farmer's market (which I've seen as high as $5.99 a dozen!), but I know that people in the neighborhood like having the chickens there and being able to buy eggs so that's what we charge.

Wow, what a large price range! Thanks, guys, this is really helpful. I think I will go with $3/dozen if I end up selling them.
