It just went through London. A carefully organized "Free Tibet" group orchestrated a series of attacks on...the torch. One man tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher. At one point, British police had to abruptly rush the torch onto a double-decker bus because about 100 people tried to seize it. Apparently, interruptions are planned all the way to Beijing. I wonder if this has ever happened before??

Wow, that's fascinating. I know people here are already boycotting the Olympic trials that are in town this summer and there have been many letters to the editor saying that we shouldn't be having the trials here. Which is sad, because of course having the trials is really cool, but I understand why people are really upset about these games and not wanting to be part of that whole process this time around.

And on the way home in the car, the radio DJ said that free-Tibet protesters had climbed up the wires on the Golden Gate bridge to hang free-Tibet flags. The police are reportedly waiting for them to climb down so they can arrest them. And I think they finally had to cancel the Paris run of the torch due to all the protests and attacks on the torch. I wonder if this has happened before?

No, there have never been such wide-spread protests against the torch run in the past.
