Is there anyway to turn off the pop-up preview thing?

Yes when you edit your options I believe it is the last option in the "message notification" box. You can unclick the box that says you get a notification in a pop-up box.

I think she means the floating message you get if you scroll over the title line of a post, not the pop-up to tell you you have a PM. They're all just thingies to me.:jester:

I don't think that's it, isn't that for when I get a PM? I mean when I'm trying to scroll down the forum and the little window pops up with the first part of the post.

I actually kind of like it - makes it easy to figure out a thread a bit before diving in.

I didn't realize that was a forum option. That happens in my email program and other non-vB forums I'm on. I thought it was a Firefox thing. If it is a vB option I'd like to keep it. Without the threading (which I am REALLY missing) I use this preview constantly to decide whether or not to open the thread.

I have a love hate relationship with it. I love it when I want to use it, but I'm finding it annoying that I have to be conscious where I keep my mouse. Sometimes the mouseover bubble (did you say preview pane?) gets in the way of what I was trying to read and then I get frustrated and wish the thing could read my mind and know that I was trying to read the text and not wanting the bubble just then.:spinning:

I lovelovelove the preview feature. Sometimes I just don't have time to read everything, and I can get the gist of a post from the preview, and know if I can skip it or save it for later.
