If your boychild has had a voice change or any other (armpit hair, more stink than normal, I dunno what else) puberty changes, can you repond wiht the age it started?
Jesse will be 14 in 3 months and has not had ANY changes. He is a deep water person though; nothing phases him and he is grounded to bedrock, limestone 3 meters down; he's VERY grounded. :)
Pike will be 12 in less than a month and has RAGING hormones but no other signs.

Eric started changing a year ago, he is 14 (june birthday). His best friend is 4 days older than him and hasn't had any signs yet either. I asked him and he said it varies at school, about 1/2 have started or have changes, the other half no signs whatsoever.
DH otoh, had a full beard/moustache by age 14. He looked 30 when I met him at age 19.

Kaleb is 12.5 and his voice has been changing for the last couple of months. I just noticed in the last couple of weeks that he is getting smellier as well. He has been VERY moody, and he "talked back" to me for the first time ever the other night. :(

You managed to make it to 12.5 before that happened? You're awesome LOL.

Alex started needing to wear deodorant at 10½ years old and now at 12 MUST wear it all the time. "Private" hair started at 11 years old, and now at 12 he has a very fuzzy upper lip and his voice is starting to change.

LOL! Well, I can't say that about my other two. :) He's just always been my easy-going, compliant kid. He threw a few tantrums when he was two, and may have slammed his door a couple of times when he was 7 or 8.

Alex started at about 10 1/2 stinking like you would not believe. OMG I just wanna puke if he doesn't wear deodorant.
He doesn't really understand that there are some pieces of information mama doesn't need to know. Suffice to say he has hair in new places  shortly after his 11th birthday.

Nic is about that stage. His armpits don't smell, even after a soccer game(Wish i could say the same for his 9yo sister) but he says he's getting hair down there.
He'll be 12 this august.
BUT, he's tried showing me his armpit hair, and I don't see it.

Nathan changed quietly. He never got that attitude that some boys get. The only time he'd ever get super stinky is if he was really, really sweaty from playing football-his friend (14 hours younger than ds) was a different story and would stink from just sitting around the house. He still doesn't need to shave very often, he could shave once a week but he doesn't. He just has a couple of hairy spots on his chin that dh and I think he should shave, but he thinks if he shaves it'll come in thicker and faster.
Oh, and he seemed to completly skip that Peter Brady voice changing time of puberty-much to his oldest sister's disappointment. She was ready to give him a hard time.

Joe will be 10 next month. A few months ago he started getting hair under his arms. He needs to wear deoderant pretty much every day. He just had a huge growth spurt and is thickening out - his neck and shoulders look bigger. ack!!! Hes only 9!!!
His hormones are not raging just yet, hes a little moody, but has always been my dramatic kid who just needs *more* iykwim so its hard to tell.

Trev started at about 12, except the stink thing which I believe has been going on forever. Darren is 13 and still is only showing the stink thing, no body hair, voice change, etc. He has just started to get some minor acne however and that was one of the first signs with Trev.
I am actually laughing as I type this a both boys are in the room and would die of embarrasment if they knew I was sharing this info.

J started needing deoderant @ age 10 or 11. Last summer, at age 12 his voice started changing. I think he started growing pit hair at age 11+. He has some awful case of teenage skin, too (which, if he washed it, might not be the case ...). The peach fuzz on his upper lip has begun to darken, but he doesn't need to shave. Oh, he also got really sulky in the last year, year and a half or so.

um, annie? um.... (looks around furtively) oh shit. um...
hawt. (SORRY!)
Patrick's voice changed last spring I think, so he was very-newly 14 (he has a March birthday) He has always been on the smaller side and slower with physical development so it wouldn't surprise me if he were a yr older than is typical. His voice change was hysterical BTW, we used to tell him jokes to make him laugh and talk back because thats whehn it would really squeak. Now he sounds JUST like his father, when people call they always mistake them. He has a decent upper lip hair growing in, enough to shave I think, and I am ASSUMING theres pit hair but being in a long sleeve shirt area I couldn't say for sure. He does get horrific BO if he doesn't shower every day and wear deoderant. Oh and the acne thing, he's been dealing with the acne thing for a few yrs now.

Kollin started getting stinky around 10.5 and has been wearing deoderant since then. He had a pretty furry upper lip for a couple of months and it started darkening around the first of the year. He first shaved(with my help and a pink razor :jester:) on Feb. 15 at 11.5 years old. He didn't need to shave again until a month later. He could stand to do it again now. He also has some teenage skin issues going on and has acne on his face and upper back. He has pubic hair and has had it for 6ish months anyway(he told me:p) and a few stray armpit hairs. So, I think we are in the thick of it. Oh, and he doesn't really have an attitude or anything, but man, can that boy sleep now. My formerly early riser will sleep until noon if I let him some days.

Ohhhh I forgot that Alex is also doing the "I'm hungry" thing every 15 minutes and is sooo hormonal. I thought only girls got the raging hormones!
Alex has also grown an inch in the last 2 months! I think he's right about 5 ft tall now. I'm only 5 ft 3 (on a good day and in the right shoes LOL).

Changing voice has been slow, never really noticed squeaking, but he sounds like my two of my nephews who are 21 (twins). When people call they always comment on his voice change.
Raging hormones? He's never really had that. He's had moments of incredible moodiness but it mostly passes quickly. I think it's personality though - he's pretty easy going. He doesn't have much facial hair. He thinks he needs to shave but he really doesn't. He's had bouts with acne for about a year now, but nothing major. He does like to sleep and can lay on the couch all day if he so chooses. You have no idea how much that freaks me out sometimes because this is the boy who could just not ever sit still. It's mindblowing really. The girl thing? In full swing. OMG, he loves the girls!
He's been changing a lot lately when I look at him. His build is more muscular, in that he looks more like a highschool kid (he's in 8th grade). I know a lot of this has to do with all his physcial activies, but not completely, because he's always been active and ran a lot, but was just short and small. He's not on the shorter side (though he's grown quite a bit) and he is thick and muscular.

Yeah, my Alex has really grown, too. He's about 5'5" and wearing an 8 in men's shoes. No attitude stuff, but the boy is suddenly shooting up like a weed and is eating me out of house and home. :loveit:

Kaleb too! He's always been shorter than most kids his age. In February we hadn't been to our homeschool group all year, and we made an effort to go to the Valentine's Day party. We went, and a friend of Kaleb's that he's had since they were five was there. He's always been taller than Kaleb, last time we saw him I think he was a full head taller. On V-Day, Kaleb was about 3 or 4 inches taller! I couldn't believe it. He's caught up to his friends in our old neighborhood too. Every time I buy him shoes, he shoots up a size or even two. I just bought him shoes two weeks ago, and he's wearing 9.5! He has now officially past my size 9 feet. Made me feel bad for putting off buying him new shoes for so long...he was wearing 8's!

DS just turned 15. He needed deodorant at 12....serious deodorant! His voice changed between 12-13. He started growing arm and pubic hair about 11 but didn't shave until 5 months ago. He shaves about every 3 weeks now. For the most part he's blonde and the whiskers don't show.
He is now 6'3", 124 pounds, and wears a size 13 shoe.

Um, C just turned 11--no stinky anything, no hair, no voice change, and honestly I LIKE IT THAT WAY!!! LOL!! He has been eating more, though, and finally gaining some weight. (Not that he's not still incredibly skinny, but that at least I now believe he could break 60 lbs before he hits 13.)
I tell you I freaked out reading about kids his age or younger who've been making these changes. I figured we had a couple more years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ACK!

Jesse was still freakishly skinny 2 years ago. This past year he's been putting on some weight (he is now simply skinny instead of freakish) and has upper body muscles like you wouldn't believe.
But still no hair, voice, stink... :)
Thanks so much (and keep them coming) for sharing all your experiences!
