Since this worked for Jill and Trish, gives Amy more time to get a plane ticket  and gives my garden more time to get into gear for fresh produce :loveit:, I am picking this date. Margie, Jessica, Meagan, Chantele, kmi, Bonny, Kelly and anyone else, I hope it works for you!

To repeat my previous post, I am in Wisconsin by the Illinois border. I'm an hour away from Madison, Dubuque and Rockford, two hours away from Milwaukee, three hours away from Chicago and about five hours away from the Twin Cities (hint, hint to the Mpls/St Paul folks). I'd be happy to have people sleep over here - we have two sets of bunks, a queen guest bed, queen air matress, three sofas, lots of sleeping bags and a pop-up camper :p or there are small hotels and B&Bs in my city if anyone prefers that route.

Come one, come all, for a day or a weekend. Husbands are welcome too.

Oh, I am so excited! :bounce: I wonder if I have enough time to redo my bathroom before then? LOL

Are you flying? Driving? If I fly it would be out of Columbus, if I drive, maybe we could go together or something? Jill too. Or Meagan. We could have a big ole yaaps carpool. Picking each other up on the way....

Where would I fly into from KCI? nt

:yay:

Madison, WI or Rockford, IL would be the closest. They are both about 1 hour away, and we could certainly pick you up from one of those two. Dubuque is a little over an hour away, and I'm pretty sure there is an airport there as well.

Milwaukee is about 2 hours, give or take, and Chicago is about 3 hours. I couldn't promise to pick you up from there, given that Simon is still not thrilled about car rides.

I could pick people up from Rockford or Madison easily. There is shuttle bus service from Chicago to Janesville and I could pick people up at the bus stop there if you wanted to use that option.

That is a great idea. I always forget about the shuttle bus. Thanks, Chantele!

Oh, I am so excited! :bounce: I wonder if I have enough time to redo my bathroom before then? LOLCan you believe there's a nonstop flight from Phoenix to Madison? How bizarre and cool is that? LOL.

So what ages of kids will be there?

Edited to add--Oh, silly girl, they're not to Madison, they're to Milwaukee. But still!

Woohoo!!!!

I'd definitely be bringing Sawyer if I came, and I'm not sure he and I could handle a drive that long, you know? So I'd almost definitely fly, and I haven't checked the fares yet. If they're reasonably low, I'll just get them, if they're pretty high, I might try to wait until closer and priceline them. I've pricelined before with great success.

Definitely let's keep talking about our plans - maybe we could mesh something up together travelwise :D

Crossing my fingers I get a good job soon and won't have to worry about plane fare etc. I really, really want to go to the gathering!!!!!!

My Abigail is 10 and Isabella 8; Vincent is 5 and Simon is 1 (;)).

Too bad Madison isn't non-stop, but it isn't too long of a flight to Milwaukee non-stop. Madison is only one stop. If you go in and out of Madison, it looks like it adds about 1.5 hours onto the trip and (according to Orbitz) about $40. Timewise, with driving here from Milwaukee, it would probably be a wash. Just FYI. We could absolutely pick you up if you come into Madison.

Me too. :( And not just so you could bring chocolate. I'd have Luis dig out the second Spree and get it running so we could moped together. :p
