every 6 weeks, like clockwork my parents take the kids to get their haircut and then out to dinner,,and Mike and I use that time to have a date dinner.
Karys has been somewhat ill for about 3 days, I assumed that it was seasonal allergies, (runny nose, runny eyes, phantom fever) because I have them too. Aidan has been "eh" for a few days, not really sick, but a pain in my butt.
So anyway, we met my parents at the hairdressers, put the carseats in their car, came home, took showers and got dressed, went to Applebee's. (this all took about 2 hours) Meanwhile, my parents got the kids hair cut, and then had to run some errands before dinner. They went to the local seafood place.
Mike and I's food had JUST arrived, when my Mom called me and said "meet us at your house, Aidan puked all over the table at the restraunt" While I was waiting for the waiter, I called the Dr's office about Karys' eyes (because my Mom said "she has pinkeye call the dr and get an appt for tomorrow)
So we flagged down our waiter, got our check and to go boxes, came home. As I pulled in the driveway, the dr's office called me back. They asked me a bunch of q's about Karys and said "bring her to the after hours clinic, we've made her an appt for 8:30"
So we go down, and we wait, and we called into the exam room. The nurse came in and I talked to her for a few minutes, then the Dr. came in and he was so nice, he went right to Karys and said "Hi, my name is Steve, what's your name?" "Karys" "How old are you?" "3" "where do you feel sick" *points at eyes* "Is that your Mom" "yup" " can I talk to her?" "ok"
So I gave him the rundown, and he looked her over and checked her eyes, and felt her neck, and then he did that one eyebrow thing and he asked her if he could feel her armpits. Then he called the nurse and asked her to do a strep swab, and told me he was going to do the quicktest and a culture. Then, out he went.

In he comes. Good news, no pinkeye. Bad news, strep in her lymph nodes. Have to get abx, to prevent rhuemetic fever and all that.
Shot of zithromax. Rx for zithromax. Go to 24 hour walgreens.
Didn't get home until 10:45. Karys has been up since 6am, no nap, and her bedtime is 7pm :eyes: She was WIRED!
I'm gonna eat my cold steak and then collapse.
Why can't my kids get normal shit like colds? They were never sick until Aidan started school :(
