Dh was off work sick for 9 days. Nine days! He was really, really sick. He still has abdominal cramps and diarrhea, but it's not as severe as it was just a couple days ago. So he's back to work. The past couple days were pretty good. He was feeling much better, and we could takes walk and enjoy each other more without him irritating the crap out of me :p

You know he's a big worrier, especially over money. He really wants everything to be ok for us so we can have nice things and enjoy life. He's not getting paid for his time off (insurance doesn't start till day 9, of course  ). He's handling it remarkably well. As long as I don't let the checking be overdrawn the next 4 weeks, he'll be ok. That's a big order, too, btw.

And once again it's vindicating to hear him acknowledge what I do all day. He knows, and he compliments me and tells me he appreciates what I do, but when you aren't here to see it day after day it's easy to complain about what I don't do all day, kwim? So he was here and saw what my typical day was like and then yelled at the kids they should appreciate me more and do more to help out around here! ROFLOL You're mom spent all morning cleaning this kitchen up! I don't want you out there making a mess of the place!

So that's where we are  Thanks for your good thoughts and prayers last week. It was hard with him being in the hospital. Jordan really stepped up and helped out, as I knew he would.

I'm so glad that he got to see first hand what your days are like. :)

What ended up being wrong with him? I read your other thread but don't remember what the dr's said was going on.

:dunno: They never really said. We are waiting on results to come back on a poop sample (OMG!) to see if something might be related to his colon. But everything was negative. All we know is that he was really, really sick. Even for a man ;)

Ah, I didn't realize that he was sick in a gastrointestinal way! (why didn't I get that from that other thread? Geez) Trust me, I know the grossness that is the poop sample. Doing it is :puke:
When I was so sick my sample came back with a strange mostly unheard of bacteria, but they diagnosed my UC with the colonoscopy.
If the sample comes back neg you might want to see about the colonoscopy or something because YEARS ago I was having issues and my poop sample came by totally negative, and I didn't bother going for the colonoscopy that they gave me a referral for ...maybe I would have known about my UC years earlier!

Okay, this was not meant to be all about me at all...just talking 'bout poop samples and gastro issues brings it out in me.:p

Ditto to this advice. DH had similar issues and kept getting sick. The samples didn't show anything, but a colonoscopy after months of problems showed a parasitical infection. He probably picked it up in Florida, he was drinking water from the tap right after a big hurricane there and major flooding (I keep telling the man not to drink tap water, but now he listens to me!).

In any case, false negatives on the samples are really common, so if your DH's problems don't resolve (which I hope they do!), I would also pursue the colonoscopy. My DH had lost 20 pounds before they finally referred him for one. That's a lot of being sick.

Glad to hear your hubby's on the mend and got to experience first-hand what your day is like! My leaving town for 5 days last week gave my hubby a big dose of that, too, LOL. Welcome back!

My chiro picked up gyardia at his cabin and it was totally undetectible and only was treated after picking through a medical book, itemizing all his symptoms.

he was treated with Flagyl, I think you spell it.
