I got some money for my birthday and haven't spent it all. I've been instructed to use it for things I *want* and not things I might need (Like dinnerware! Things for the house etc..) I can't seem to do that very well. I bought myself a new pair of shoes :loveit:
If you had a few hundred bucks to spent on something you WANT, what would it be? Or would it be multiple things?
Help me spend my cash!

New Tattoo! That would probably be my first choice. After that, clothes, shoes, massage, pedicure, getting my hair professionally cut and colored, new music, concert tickets... I could keep going, I like frivolous things. :p

Clothes, almost everything I own is too big. And I'd be checking out craigslist for new (to me) living room furniture.

Well....I was at a friend's house the other day and she had a HOT WATER DISPENSOR in her sink. You got boiling water! I would so love that. But then I decided it couldn't be energy efficient to have a small tank of water boiling all the time.
Now if someone wants to convince me that it is energy efficient and actually a good idea, I'm open to hearing about it.

Is saving it for something you might want later an option? Because I would want to be able to do that (can you tell I haven't spent my birthday gift book money yet?)

I have one and I just love it!! When dh mentioned getting it I was like "eh, I could take it or leave it" but now that I have it I just LOVE it. Hot tea is about 30 seconds away. I use it to warm up the ice cream scoop.
I have no clue if it is energy efficient or not and the tank is not all that big.
But since I have one I'll never not have one!!

I might have my legs waxed and a pedicure as many times as I could throughout the summer or I might buy a camera or an ipod. Clothes are always good, especially shoes.

I don't know about the ones with a tank, but when/if ever we build a house DH wants instant hot water at all the taps. It heats the water at the tap with a special device installed behind the scenes. It is supposed to be more efficient than keeping hot water in a huge tank all the way across the house (or wherever your hot water heater is) that has to travel to it's destination losing it's heat while doing so - you also don't get the huge amounts of cold water wasted before it turns hot. It heats water as needed, where needed. Pretty cool.. uh.. hot! :loveit:

A pedicure (I haven't had one since Gabriel was a few weeks old, yes, he is almost 5 now)
Some funky jewelry (maybe a chunky necklace and a few pairs of earrings)
Really cool flip flops that are NOT from ON.
A summer dress
A new white button down shirt (again not from ON)
New tank tops that are a little different than my standby (you guessed it from ON)
A really good bottle of Vodka
Pricy shampoo from my hairdresser
Fancy lotion from the fancy store in town
New makeup from a dept store counter (or from a salon/dayspa)
Is it terrible that all my frivilous things are somewhat apperance related (well, except for the vodka lol)? I'm really feeling little in a rut lately. And I have spring fever. I am ready to get out of winter clothes and into some cute spring things.

Some NICE (i.e, not Target) clothes; flowering plants, preferably ones that will return year after year; some really nice pottery for the garden, either whimsical stone statues or nice urns/pots to plant in; some really cool kitchen gadgets, the stuff I drool over every time I go to the kitchen specialty store but can't afford; some cool shoes, or maybe new cowboy boots; some really awesome jeans!

It just adds a little punch to a cosmo (a Gingertini). But it's too much for more than a drink or 2.
I like Skyy (though not top of the line) and do not like smirnoff. There is also a cheap Vodka called Something Fijord that is decent. It's Scadinavian of some sort (next time I'm at the liquor store I'll look) and it's only aboout 12 bucks a bottle.
If I had extra dough I'd buy a super premium brand that compares to Grey Goose (maybe a little higher priced). I don't love GG so I'd have to try something new.

I tried Reyka last and it was fantastic (its not too pricey though-comparable to GG). It's so clean, I could drink it like water. I won't, but I could

Books and music also come to mind.
I am the same way and, in a way, really hate having money to spend on myself because I find it so HARD.
I requested, and received, money from my Dad & Stepmom money for my last birthday. They gifted me $200
I saved it and doled it out little bits at a time as I saw something I wanted. Well, other than that one $60 purchase at Goodwill in which I was able to purchase 7 (yes, seven) different outfits.
