I have an interview here (http://rockbridgecapital.com) tomorrow. They build hotels, I think. I'm not really sure LOL! I don't need to be an expert in capital investment overnight, but I don't want to look like a dodo either, you know?

My job will probably be in the legal department, but I want to look like I have an inkling about what the company basically does when I go in there. My background is in corporate litigation and labor/employment law - nothing financial like this!

I've read the whole site and am reading through some of the media on their site. Is there somewhere else that gives a primer on what these invetment companies actually do? I mean, what's the mechanism behind "Funds One through Eight" and mortgages and etc. etc. etc.? I need the basics, I think.

Anyone a financial whiz? TIA anyone who can help :)

Replying to myself to add, I think I'm getting a handle on it. Apparently, rich people invest in RockBridge - when they get enough investors, they call it a "Fund" (as in "Fund III or Fund IV").

Once they have a fund, they lend the money, as a mortgage, to hotels. Either to renovate/expand their hotels, or to build new ones.

I'm pretty sure that's it in a nutshell, but if there's any specialized knowledge about investing any yaapsters have, I'd love to hear it. OR, if someone knows of some sort of internet "investing primer" where I can read more about the basics (before tomorrow at 2 LOL) I'd be all for it :D
