How do I go about finding one in my area? I tried the Office of Aging, but attorney lists are the one thing they don't seem to have.

I wonder if they have a professional organization that does referrals?

ETA: Yes, they do (http://www.naela.org/) - and there is a member directory (http://www.naela.org/MemberDirectory/). It would at least give you some names to ask about, make sure you don't hear any negative reviews.

Thank you. I wonder why that never came up in my google searchs. That's perfect, I can print out the list and hand it over (I do not want to be personally involved in interviewing or vetting anyone, I see my role as simply providing information).

Hmm, I may suggest to the nice lady at the Office of Aging that they link to that as well.

If you were in or near Philly, I could recomend a few! If you need more help let me know I can ask around, my old firm has offices in DC and Virginia.

Funny you should ask since we're dealing with this right now...personal referral is really the best way to go. I would start with your accountant, your personal attorney; if you belong to a union that provides legal services (my sister's UFT benefits include legal services) that is another good route. Our experience is that a reference from another attorney is best.
