DH and I have decided to change our plans and vacation on the outer banks this summer. I remember Jody did a review or was working on a review awhile back so I'm interested in her advice but also want opinions of anyone who has stayed somewhere along there in the past couple of years. What area was the most kid friendly with fun restraunts and such. Also best beaches and attractions. Its been MANY moons since dh has been there and even longer since I have.
Thanks

Hey there! We stayed in Duck when we went and we loved it. Although it's grown up a lot I guess it still has kind of a small town feel to it. Plus it's very centrally located. It has a couple good restaurants and lots of shops.
I think that the places that have the most attractions would be Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. Then as you go way up north and way down south it gets more deserted. So it depends on whether you think of a really quiet place as being kid-friendly or one with lots of attractions as being kid-friendly.
This is where my articles on the Outer Banks are: http://family.go.com/travel/vacations/north-carolina/outer-banks/best-outer-banks-vacation-for-children-282150/ You can change the itinerary so it goes from school-aged kids to preschoolers, to teens, or whatever.
