Not for me (loveloveLOVE my Adobe Elements!), but for my sister. She wants something that is easy to use, that organizes pictures easily, and did I mention being very user friendly? She's due with her first baby in early June, so is wisely thinking she'll have little extra time on her hands for a while. Is there anything a bit simpler than Elements that still works well?

Definitely Picasa, then. I know my way around a "real" graphics editing program, and I've started doing 99% of my photo editing right inside Picasa with the included tools. The organizing is terrific, too.

I was also going to suggest Picasa. I haven't actually used it yet, but I've heard wonderful things about it.

my sister paid big bucks for Photoshop and uses it exclusively. When she was here for a vacation she was forced to use Picasa. she was SHOCKED to find that Picasa was just as good (if not better) than Photoshop at some stuff and much much much faster. She will still use PS to clone and chop but she says she is a Picasa convert for more than 90% of what she does in Photoshop.

I personally use Picasa and have never used anything else.

Have they changed Picasa? I had it on my computer a year? two? ago and despised it. I hated it so much that I uninstalled it and yelled at Luis when he put it on the desktop. There was so much more I could do in photoshop, and I did not find Picasa very user friendly at all. I would never in a million years imagine that someone who uses and owns photoshop would go to Picasa, so I am shocked to read this.

They have had a few updates; I've never used anything but Picasa for the last 4 years and it is only the last couple years that I've been using anything but crop for my photos.

I was shocked too; she is ALWAYS on the computer at home playing with her photos in PS so you might consider giving Picasa a try. She was shocked herself.

I also did not care for the original interface, but I'm much happier with this product. nt
