I ran 2.4 mile in 30 minutes with a short warm up and cool down, I ran 4.8 MPH for about 25 minutes!!

I always said "I can't jog." But apparently I can! It took a while. Last summer I started couch to 5K. I did it all summer and got to two mile in 30 mins (but out side up and down hills) But I stopped.

My fitness goal is to get to the point where I can run a 5k. Then get to the point where I can run a 5k in 30 minutes.

But right now I am happy I *ran* 2.4 miles.

Couch to 5K is amazing. WHen I first started I thought I would DIE after running 1 minute and 30 seconds. Then I added a little and a little more.

DH made a good point about not being able to natureally pace myself. THat is why I do well on the bike. Because the spinning of the bike helps that a lot. So I make a concentrated effort to get in a rhythm when I run. The treadmill helps that too. If I don't have a "pace" going, i would either bump into the front or fall off the back (and belive me the first few times I was on it, this was a *huge* fear for me)

Here's the link to couch to 5ks program if you havent' seen it.

I have a big problem feeling balanced on a treadmill too, and quite by chance, I purchased a used treadmill that has handles you use to swing back and forth. It looks very similar to this one (http://www.treadmilltalk.com/proform-crosswalk-caliber-elite-treadmill.html). Surprise, surprise - they keep me placed properly on the tread! I haven't stumbled or creeped up at all since I started using this machine. I once tripped on a machine and shot off the back, at a Perfect Bodies type health club . . . oy, very humiliating LOL!

because apparently you have to get to the gym before 5:15am to get one! And I haven't had a chance to do a later in the day thing. Tomorrow I am going to get up super early and try to get a treadmill.
