Wanted: CD walkman(s) or small portable CD player(s)

We play a lot of CDs in our house, often in multiple rooms at the same time. Unfortunately, our CD players are all dead or dying or close to dying. I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to replace them, and wondering if anyone here might have an old but working CD walkman (or other smallish CD player, not heavy to ship) that they would be happy to declutter. Our family is happy with CDs - we're not in the mp3 era just yet. I would be very glad to pay shipping and even a bit more if you need me to.

I would be thrilled to have more than one. We use three CD players regularly - one in the boys room, one in the living room, one in the bedroom/girls room. Two of those are fickle and don't play about half the time, and one is a walkman that is so well-loved, I am afraid it will also need replacing soon.

We have found that computer speakers work well with a walkman, and we have a couple of extra sets of speakers, so a walkman would be a fine replacement option for the bigger ones that are dying.

I might have one. It's on the finicky side, too, but it isn't getting used here and might work better for you. I think I have a pair of computer speakers, too, if you need more of those!

Seriously, I would love to plan a visit to you and kmi...in better weather, though, if you don't mind! I love driving through our state and only rarely can justify doing so. You guys are a great excuse.

I had some friends who were in your town yesterday for The VY Vote. I was going to babysit for another friend so she could go, but the 6 am departure time and the 2 feet of snow were a bit of a deterrent.

Amanda, I just want to apologize for not getting this out to you sooner. In all honesty, I haven't been able to find the darn thing yet! I know it's here and I know where it could be (that I haven't already checked!) but it is still MIA. If you are still interested in having it, I will redouble my efforts to find it and get it out to you (and it's not a problem to do that...it's just that I've been slow on it until now!). Angela, we would still love to have it, but don't go crazy looking for it. Mandi gave us a stereo CD player so we at least have one reliable CD player; the kids would love to have another walkman so they can listen at different times, but we can manage. I promise I won't go crazy, but I *will* look for it because, since I'm not using it, I would much rather pass it on to someone who *would* use it. The last thing I need in my home is more stuff that isn't loved or used! LOL. I will look in passing this week, and then if I still haven't found it, I will search while I'm doing spring cleaning next weekend when the kids are at their dad's. I'm determined to find it, because now it bugs me that it hasn't turned up when it seemed like it was turning up all over the place when I didn't want it and now it seems to be missing. WTF? LOL.
