I think J has it - headache, swollen glands, sore throat, tired. From what I have read, nothing can be done, except comfort measures. Is a trip to the doc warranted? Any BTBT welcome.

TIA - Val

It could also be strep, and for that reason it's worth checking out. I think it can be quite difficult to tell the difference between strep and mono.

If you suspect it I'd take her in and have a blood test. If she is active physically another good reason, because with mono can come enlarged spleen. Also, unlike strep or another virus, the tiredness lasts for a while sometimes, and for me, it would be good to know that, otherwise I'd be concerned as to other causes for the extreme tiredness.

Yeah, you should get seen and let them rule out strep and flu. While there's nothing but comfort measures for mono, it's important to have a record of it for future medical histories, and some mono patients get a swollen spleen that needs to be followed - special precaution is needed.
