I'm thinking about buying these shoes, in this purple color, for work:

I already own them in brown suede, and love them - but, notwithstanding that they are suede (which I think of as a winter thing), I only wear them in warm weather, because of the peep-toe. I stopped wearing them around October for this reason.
Is this misguided?
If so, then how would you wear these shoes, other than with bare (nicely pedicure'd) feet? I don't do sheer hose. Does that leave me with tights as the only option?
How could they be worn in the winter?

Maybe with funky toe socks?
Where I grew up a lot of people wore commuting shoes, and then changed into nice shoes when they were in from the snow/slush/muck.

How about patterned pantyhose? Like these (http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=50475&CatID=51879&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1840058&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=external%7c51206%7c51879&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=21&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=external|51206|51879) I know they're kind of sheer but I really love the texture/pattern. I think it would look especially subtle and lovely with a purple suede shoe if you were wearing a skirt but you could go with a slightly heavier black pattern (not opaque though) for under pants as well . :) :)

Thanks J. Those are pretty.
Would I look like Mutton Dressed As Lamb in that combination, though?

Heheheh Good one! No...actually I think the smaller patterned hose is specifically designed for the "more mature leg". It clearly hides a multitude of sins - veiny, vericosey, less than perfect shin skin, etc.
I, for one, can't wait for hose to come back into fashion. I loathe loathe loathe bare legs. I can't possibly be the only over 40 woman whose thighs rub together, am I? Nor can I be the only woman whose bare feet create a sweaty, smelly mess inside of closed shoes. Ugh.
Thanks J. Those are pretty.

LOL, funky toe socks are cool but wouldn't go over well in my conservative workplace.
I commute by car to a suburban location, so slush etc. aren't that much of an issue for me.
Thanks!

Cackle!! I love that phrase.
As for shoe input: in 3 feet of snow you probably want to be wearing shoes, but possibly not those.

Since you already got actual advice, now I can make my joke.
Foot!
(Get it? Shoe input?) If this isn't funny let's blame it on the cold medicine I'm taking. but it's funny to me.

Mmmmm. You're right; probably not.
So while I dithered all day, the purple ones sold out in my size. ::sob::
It was not meant to be.
