Difference between CD-R and CD+R??

I'm not sure which ones I need for my new computer and I can't find it through "my computer" and poking around.

Could you maybe mean DVD-R and DVD+R (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-R#Competing_formats)? I am not familiar with a dual CD format like that, nor can I find any supporting references.
