The highest recorded temperature here was 115 in 1972, and the lowest was 16, also in 1972 (what a weird year that must have been!)

I found my info on weather.com. Above our local 36 hour forecast, you click on "averages" and then at the bottom of the monthly averages page they have local weather facts.

We've come close to that high a few times since I've lived here, but never anywhere near that low. The lowest I can remember was about 30 degrees.

Yeah, same here. I've lived in this area most of my life and I can remember plenty of hot spells where we went over 110 (record high is 115), but I can't remember it going below 25. It may have last year when I was in Chile (some plants that are normally hardy had a hard time), but it seems like it is much less common to approach the record low than it is to approach the record highs.

100°F (38°C) in 1975, and -24°F (-31°C) in 1942. Doesn't 100° seem like a low "high" temp? It must be because of the water surrounding us, and the lack of elevation above that water. Even in July and August, our average high is only 80 and 78, respectively. Jon comments that the thermals that 100° day - for the land to get that hot - must have been ripping.

The lowest recorded temperature was 4°F in 1973.

1986 and 2001, 37.8 °C (100 °F)
1933, -38.9 °C (-38 °F) - this is, of course, before windchill and humidex is taken into account.

High is 102, which doesn't seem all that high because we will have a couple 99 or 100 degree days every summer.

The low -36. I do not know that it has been colder than -10 or -15 in my lifetime (w/o windchill of course). I can't imagine -36! nt

I know what you mean - our high of 103 isn't so extreme when you consider that we regularly have long stretches of mid 90s every summer yk?

And I DO remember our -22 low - we've actually been close to that several times that I can remember, actual temp no windchill factored in. I remember one day where we were told not to leave the house unless it was critical because the air HURT to breathe. I can remember times where we had to close the office I worked at because nobody's cars would start because it was just. so. cold. Then you factor in a big windchill and you have some pretty dangerous conditions (as I am sure those in the great white north fully understand!)

High temp of 107 in 1881
low temp of 0 in 1985

I seem to recall it was 107 or 108 last summer. I know the heat index was in the 115 range. It was miserable

It lies. It says our record high is 102 in 1994, but I *know* we've had hotter days than that. The record low is -6 in 1990, that one I can believe.

The highest recorded temp was 96 degrees in 1994.

The lowest recorded temp was 10 degrees in 1990.

We're very close to Puget Sound.

Anything in the upper 70s or above is considered hot here and we don't go below freezing all that often.

Unofficially, I know we hit 100 degrees on our deck a few days after Sophie was born. Talk about miserable.

Record high was 112 in 2000. It was august, and I was having a picnic that day.

Low was -2 in 1949. I wasn't doing anything then ;)

I remember the day well. It was towards the end of June 1990 or 1991. The airports were closed as whatever charts they use to figure take-offs and landings didn't read that high.

Ours was a high of 104 and a low of -51. That was back in 1929 or so, but I know we must have gotten close to that 10 years ago when Embarrass and Tower, MN hit their record of -60.

Pretty big spread there! I'm so glad summer is on its way... I can't wait to complain about how hot it is.
