I'm not current with the IEP stuff, but here's a couple I remember from when I was doing it. One is a link and one is a book.

2008 ADA Amendment Act passed--key changes include
"Sets forth rules of construction regarding the definition of "disability," including that: (1) such term shall be construed in favor of broad coverage of individuals under the Act; (2) an impairment that substantially limits one major life activity need not limit other major life activities in order to be a disability; (3) an impairment that is episodic or in remission is a disability if it would substantially limit a major life activity when active; and (4) the determination of whether an impairment substantially limits a major life activity shall be made without regard to the ameliorative effects of specified mitigating measures."

WHAT ARE HIDDEN DISABILITIES?
Hidden disabilities are physical or mental impairments that are not readily apparent to others. They include such conditions and diseases as specific learning disabilities, diabetes, epilepsy, and allergy. A disability such as a limp, paralysis, total blindness or deafness is usually obvious to others. But hidden disabilities such as low vision, poor hearing, heart disease, or chronic illness may not be obvious. A chronic illness involves a recurring and long-term disability such as diabetes, heart disease, kidney and liver disease, high blood pressure, or ulcers.

I really like LD Online (http://www.ldonline.org/ldbasics)for all sorts of information, Here's some other older links I found.
Section 504 and IDEA Comparison Chart (http://www.ncld.org/at-school/your-childs-rights/iep-aamp-504-plan/section-504-and-idea-comparison-chart) I found thisd article when I was looking for sample letters I had bookmarked on this site, but I can't find them now. I will post if I do find them.
