Dh made me compost tea brewer yesterday. He was reading The Organic Lawn Care Manual (http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Lawn-Care-Manual/dp/1580176496)and the author really likes compost tea for bringing lawns back to life. The book gives a brief description of how to make one, but I remembered that I had a detailed PDF from a few years ago when I was on an organic gardening list. We've got it all together and brewing and hopefully, tomorrow we'll have tea that we'll mix with water for our lawn and garden. :yay: It was about $20 to make. I put up a set of photos. If they don't work, I'll upload them here.

Very cool! We use this stuff called Garret Juice on our lawn and plants. It has molasses, compost tea, and some other stuff I can't remember in it. Works wonderfully well.

So the idea is just to make compost tea out of compost, instead of compost-dirt stuff? Interesting!

What do you use to apply it - just one of those sprayers with a holder for concentrated chemicals? (Not that compost tea is "chemical" LOL!) That's what I use myself for the fish emulsion stuff I like.

The book recommends using one of these (http://www.growerssolution.com/page/GS/PROD/fi/siphon-mixer?gclid=CNG14PuTl5wCFSENDQodTXk6dQ) but we didn't get one because that would have doubled the cost of the project. Maybe next year we'll get one, and then we can just hook it up and use the sprinkler, which would be easier than doing it with the container attachment.

Yeah, it's pretty cool! We've applied it once, now keep brewing and applying and wait for results. :loveit:
