Question about Facebook Chat

Since you can set up friends lists for chat, I thought that took care of the guy I was trying to avoid on FB. But then he shows up in my list when he's online even if though he's not in my list. So I *presume* he can see that I am online, too. Anyone know for sure? I miss chatting with some of FB friends, but I just don't wnat to deal with this guy.

Maybe you can make yourself look like you are offline, but still be able to contact others to chat?? IDK, hmmmmm.

Chat has been all wonky for me lately, though. Firefox practically freezes up when someones chats in.

FB chat isn't good for hiding. You are either on or off.

As for the Firefox issue, I had the same problem. If you choose the pop-out chat option, it works better. Or if you have certain add-ons, that can cause a problem. I ended up removing Skype and it worked fine after that. Not a big issue since I don't even use Skype.

You're invisible to me when I *know* you're online. I keep mine the same way, but for a different reason...I asked my girls to look at my status when we are all online and they have told me that when I'm using the setting that you are also using "OFFLINE" they can't see me online....However, as soon as you chat with someone it shows you as online to everyone on your friends list...That's what it does for me, anyway.
